Smartphone and Smarthome Design for Older Adults

This event will bring together people involved in the research and design of smartphone and smarthome digital services that are usable by, and acceptable to, older adults. The aim is to help designers, researchers and service providers understand the challenges and opportunities that arise when designing for older adults.  It also aims to bring together interested parties to improve older adults’ digital user experience.

The workshop will start with contributions from a panel discussing ongoing research and user needs.  This will be followed by an interactive workshop on smartphone and smarthome interface design for older adults.

Registration will take place from 3.45pm and the event will start at 4pm.


Who should attend?

  • Representatives from public and private organisations in health, social care, local authorities and charities who design and/or provide services for older adults

  • SMEs who have an interest in developing these technologies

  • Older adults who wish to shape the future of smartphone and smarthome technologies are also welcome to attend
