Professor Sue Ellis and Ms Monica Porciani of the School of Education at Strathclyde will discuss their recent applied research in Renfrewshire on interventions by teachers and parents which have transformed learning and, importantly, young people’s perceptions of their ability.
This event will be chaired by Professor Ian Rivers, Head of the School of Education, with opportunity for Q&A.
Refreshments will be available from 4.30pm.
The speakers offer a positive and practical approach to supporting children and young people.
Sir Harry Burns frames this in a vision of a society focussed on creating wellness; and Professor Ellis talks to a specific approach in literacy that has been proven to work – and can be further applied.
