Enhancing placemaking in Glasgow through methods co-development Focus on Active Mobility

The Strathclyde Active Mobility Hub is an inter-disciplinary research, knowledge exchange and practice group.  

During this event, researchers from the range of disciplines that form the Active Mobility Hub will share their experiences, highlighting the innovative methods and differences in disciplinary approaches used in co-developing placemaking.  The event will open up discussions on placemaking, and allow attendees and researchers to collaboratively evaluate and co-develop methods.

At this event the organisers will communicate their work and research methods, while also showcasing the process of inter and transdisciplinary research in practice. The aim of the event is to develop conversations and engagements with practitioners and decision-makers to shape the future of visible and impactful active mobility research and knowledge exchange , and ultimately deliver health, societal, cultural, infrastructural and environmental benefits at the University of Strathclyde.

  • Anyone working in transport planning and delivery, sustainable transport, placemaking, roads, sustainability, mobility, urbanism. 
  • Council staff and third sector organisation.
  • Sustainable travel leads for large organisations (e.g. NHS).

  • Methods experts.

Benefits of attending

Attendees will consider, contribute to, critique and co-produce methods for placemaking relevant to Scotland. They will gain insight into, and inform, practices being used in ongoingresearch projects at the university and help develop approaches for future work.
