Participation (In)justice Rights realising practice with children in conflict with the law

Monday, 20th May 2024, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Registration from 9:30 am

Scotland’s policy and practice landscape for children in conflict with the law is set to radically change with incorporation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Children (Care and Justice) (Scotland) Bill. This event considers how we uphold the rights of children and young people amidst this change, with a focus on their right to be heard.

With a mixture of presentations and interactive workshops, the event will create space for the current and future workforce to develop their rights respecting practice.

Who should attend?

The event is primarily aimed at students and teaching staff from colleges and universities who have an interest in working with children in conflict with the law, but we also welcome those who already work with this community.

Benefits of attending

This event will provide attendees with practical and meaningful knowledge, advice and resources they can take into practice now or when they enter the workforce, all through a Children’s Rights lens.

The event will provide opportunity for attendees to network and build connections with projects, organisations and a potential future workforce.
