This hybrid event aims to showcase and share learning from the One Ocean Hub through its research, partnerships, innovative methodologies, and lived experience. The event is open to colleagues from the University of Strathclyde, possible future partners, funders, and other interested organisations. As part of the event a short film showcasing the Hub’s research will be screened.

Both in-person and online attendees will be introduced to the One Ocean Hub’s research through a series of presentations and discussions. In-person attendees are invited to join us for the opening of an art exhibit and a networking lunch. The exhibit will demonstrate the Hub’s commitment and approach to promote inter-and-transdisciplinarity in research, working with experts from different disciplines and stakeholders.

The event also opens opportunities for participants to explore new collaboration opportunities for the co-creation of future areas of ocean research and co-development of collaborative research and knowledge exchange activities around the following themes:

  • One Ocean Learn
  • Gender and the ocean
  • Bio-cultural Heritage
  • Ocean and Human Health
  • Ocean and Children
  • Blue Society (economy, financing)
  • Integrated and dynamic ocean management (Deep-Sea, Land-Sea, management tools/processes)
  • Ocean, climate and biodiversity (including ocean protection 30x30)
  • Sustainable ocean, communication, ocean literacy and awareness
  • Transformative research for sustainable development (arts-based approaches, human rights-based approaches)
  • Maritime security and insecurity
