Running a third sector organisation isn’t easy and it’s getting harder. Creating a sustainable business seems like a pipedream. But is it?

This event argues that there is an opportunity for third sector leaders to think differently about who they are, what they do, and the future they want to create.

SCVO, The Wise Group and the University of Strathclyde Business School are hosting a strategic session that will consider the critical role of the third sector in Scotland’s future economic and social prosperity.  This event will encourage third sector leaders to challenge traditional thinking and move towards bold new approaches with potential to transform the sustainability, growth and impact of the sector.

This event will address questions including:

  • How can third sector organisations create sustainable value propositions?
  • What business models best suit the sector and how can these be implemented?
  • How can we better articulate the core strengths, values, and competencies of the sector?
  • How can we best demonstrate how we support meaningful social change?

The event is hosted by: Professor Eleanor Shaw, Senior Vice Dean of Strathclyde Business School, Sean Duffy is CEO of the Wise Group and John Downie is Director of Public Affairs, SCVO.

Who should attend?

This is an invite only event for ambitious third sector leaders who are open to transformational change. It will initiate a journey to help third sector organisations develop sustainable value propositions and ensure their business models are fit for purpose to achieve significant social impact.

Benefits of attending

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about new approaches for driving social value and impact. They will also hear from the chief executives of third sector organisations who have successfully adopted these approaches and learn more about their personal experiences.  There will also be the opportunity to network with like-minded third sector leaders and to start a process of transformational change.
