Thursday, 2nd May 2019, 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

The session will begin with a practical overview of what practitioner enquiry is and ideas about how to develop enquiry projects. Drawing on a range of experiences, we will share different enquiry models from across different contexts. Throughout this discussion, we will highlight the potential for enquiry to be used as a collaborative professional learning tool to enhance student learning.

The second half of this session will provide a unique opportunity to hear directly from headteachers and classroom practitioners who are involved directly in either conducting or supporting practitioner enquiry work within their schools.

The National Model of Professional Learning was developed by the Scottish College for Educational Leadership (SCEL) and published by Education Scotland in January 2019. We will draw on this model to provide examples of what enquiry might look like in teacher learning.

Education Scotland are sponsoring a free raffle for all attendees at the public lecture and book launch to win one of 6 copies of Kate Wall and Elaine Hall’s new book, Research Methods for Understanding Professional Learning.

Join in the conversation on twitter with @JW_Firth  @anna_d_Beck and @kate_wall98
