Hosted by the SIAM-IMA Strathclyde Student Chapter, this event will feature 15 minute students talks and three plenary talks from:

The plenary speakers will showcase the application of mathematics to industrial problems. These industrial topics cover a broad area and use a variety of mathematical techniques to provide cutting-edge understanding of industrial problems.

Students presenting their research will emphasise how their research can be applied in an industrial setting.

For non-academic, external attendees, 15 minute one-to-one advisory sessions are available before and after the event to discuss data, statistical or mathematical challenges that your organisation faces. These advisory sessions should be booked through smart-enquiries@strath.ac.uk

Who should attend?

Postgraduate students and early career researchers who want to learn about the many applications of mathematics in an industrial setting.

Benefits of attending

The event offers a unique learning opportunity to see the varied application of mathematics in industrial settings and offers a large showcase of different student research.  This event will also give attendees a unique chance to see how their own research fits within the world of industrial mathematics.

The event will also be great opportunity to see the active research being carried out by PhD students on industrially relevant problems.
