Whether managing big brands or small start-ups, marketers across the world invest time, money, and resources into experimenting with social media platforms. While businesses can benefit greatly from social media, marketers often struggle to harness the power of social media marketing, and to see how social media interactions translate in real business results.

This highly interactive half-day workshop aims to:

  • highlight the role of social media in building strong corporate brands
  • present research findings on the use of social media and the role of presence, interactivity, and responsiveness in social media settings for enhancing relationships between businesses (e.g. sellers/suppliers, and buyers/customers)
  • introduce social media strategies and tools that B2B marketers can apply to their businesses

A limited number of participants will have the opportunity to sign up for monthly support and monitoring progress regarding the tools introduced during the workshop for a period up to 18 months.

Who should attend?

  • Representatives of Scottish businesses and organisations (any type or size) that are either new or experienced in managing corporate social media accounts (e.g. marketing directors, social media managers)
  • External policy/industry/training bodies in Scotland supporting businesses with the development of digital skills and the pursuit of digital growth
  • Individuals (e.g. academics, PhD students) and organizations conducting research about social media

Benefits of attending

This is a hands-on workshop that involves presentations, group discussions, and collaborative tasks that will allow representatives of Scottish businesses to:

  • understand how social media matters for their corporate brand
  • familiarise themselves with the current social media landscape
  • gain up-to-date understanding about the use, relevance, and effectiveness of social media
  • reflect on the challenges they face in social media interactions with customers
  • understand the role of social media presence, interactivity, and responsiveness for enhancing business relationships
  • create a social media strategy and content marketing plan for a fictitious brand, and pitching it in front of social media marketing experts
