Child protection and the alternative care of children are global concerns, with policy makers and practitioners working to strengthen national and local systems of support to vulnerable families. How can we ensure the best knowledge and evidence is shared and incorporated into these programmes, so that children and families benefit?
Dr Chrissie Gale, Dr Ian Milligan and Sarah Hume-Anthony, from CELCIS (Centre for Excellence for Looked After Children in Scotland), part of the University of Strathclyde, will share examples of their work with partners in different regions of the world (link to CELCIS International web page). There will be an opportunity for open discussion, an exchange of ideas and experience, and networking.
Registration and refreshments will be provided from 9.30am. A networking lunch will be provided at the end of the event.
This event is aimed at anyone interested in exchanging experience of, and information about, working internationally in areas such as child rights, child protection and alternative care.
This includes professionals working across a range of private, public and third sector agencies, academics, students and researchers.
