Thursday, 3rd May 2018, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Registration from 9:30 amNext generation manufacturing promises to improve productivity through the integration of flexible and intelligent industrial robots.
This event will showcase a range of projects currently being undertaken by academic and industry partners at the University of Strathclyde. It will be of interest to business leaders, managers, and engineers within the manufacturing sector who are interested in finding out how their industry can benefit from autonomous manufacturing.
Find out how your business could benefit and where the opportunities and challenges may arise. The event will also demonstrate how sectors that traditionally adopt less automation could benefit from autonomous manufacturing.
The event consists of two parts:
9.30 am – 2.45pm Technology and Innovation Centre, 99 George Street, Glasgow
Presentations and discussion opportunities with a chance to see a flexible and intelligent robotic demonstrator in action (KUKA robotic cell). The robotic demonstrator will showcase the application of the technology to autonomous hot forging in the digital manufacturing age.
2.45pm – 5.00pm Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC, Inchinnan, Renfrewshire)
Return transfer provided to tour the facilities at AFRC to see the full size robots in action. Transport back to the Technology and Innovation Centre will be provided at the close of the tour.
Registration and refreshments available from 9.30am with the event starting at 10.00am and lunch will be provided. Please confirm at registration that you intend to take part in the tour at AFRC and the return transport provided.
Share learning and experience with academic and industry partners from the manufacturing sector and learn about challenges and opportunities of applying this technology in your organisation. See the robotic demonstrators in action and the full sized robots at AFRC.
