Family businesses make a significant contribution to the Scottish Economy. They have strong loyalty to their local communities; a well-developed sense of social responsibility and create around them clusters of suppliers, customers and advisers as well as employees.

SBS is committed to supporting family businesses in Scotland and has established the UK's largest family business research team based at the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship.  In this special event for family businesses in partnership with Family Business United Scotland we will draw upon this research and share practical ways of capitalising on the natural advantage that family businesses can possess.

This event features a guest speaker, Ross McAlpine, fourth generation of McAlpine & Co, winners of the 2017 Scottish Family Business Awards.

Registration and refreshments will be available from 3pm and you are welcome to stay for a networking reception from 4.45pm.
