Scotland's Economy 2017Economic Issues facing Scotland

Friday, 5th May 2017, 9:00 am - 11:30 am

Registration from 8:30 am

You are warmly invited to this joint event hosted by the University of Strathclyde’s Fraser of Allander Institute (FAI) and Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship to discuss the key issues facing Scotland’s economy in 2017.

With the Scottish Parliament having enhanced fiscal powers and key issues such as Brexit and Indyref2 looming on the horizon, this event will be an important opportunity to take stock of the health of the Scottish economy and to discuss how best to get it moving again.

Boosting levels of entrepreneurship is seen as vital to our future success.  The FAI and the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship are embarking on new research to better capture the economic spill-over and benefits from greater numbers of new, dynamic and fast-growing firms.

The event will be chaired by Alf Young and presenters will include FAI Director, Professor Graeme Roy and Professor Jonathan Levie of the Hunter Centre. They will be joined for a panel discussion by leading figures from Scotland’s private and public-sector communities.

Registration is essential.

Registration and refreshments will be available from 8.30am.  The formal programme will close at 10.30am and is followed by networking and refreshments until 11.30am.

Who should attend?

This event will be of interest to business and industry, entrepreneurs, trade unions, public agencies and local authorities as well as third-sector organisations, charitable foundations, the media and media commentators.

Benefits of attending
