Positive partnerships with mutual respect between the teacher and the family are essential to achieving progression in any pupil's life and learning. The recent focus on the named person scheme, and topical research such as the Lancet publication by Prof. Andrew Pickles, highlights the important role parents play in the development of a child with autism. Fostering effective links and communications with families is a key aspect of a practitioner’s role.
This event will consider the role of the teacher and practitioner in building and maintaining partnerships, discuss examples of practice and offer further signposting to relevant resources.
Registration and refreshments will be available from 4.30pm.
This event precedes the opening night of the Images of Research Exhibition which takes place in the same venue, and which you are also welcome to attend. Please select the additional option to attend this when you register.
