International Multi-Disciplinary Mega-Projects with AECOMFaculty of Engineering Special Lecture

In this special one-hour Faculty Lecture, Ant Wilson MBE FREng, Director of AECOM will give an overview of the international projects that AECOM have successfully delivered, including the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic parks, the New World Trade Centre in New York, flood relief schemes and the BAS Antarctic Research Station Halley VI.

AECOM is a large multinational company with over 90,000 people operating in more than 150 countries. It is a global network of experts working with clients, communities and colleagues to develop and implement innovative solutions to the world's most complex challenges. It employs architects, engineers, town, transport and landscape planners, programme, facilities and cost managers, environmentalists and economists to work in collaborative teams to deliver multi-disciplinary projects.

Ant Wilson MBE FREng, a Director of AECOM with 40 years of construction experience and based in the UK, has had the privilege of working on projects around the world and will show how advances in technology enable international collaboration.

He is an award winning building services Engineer who is recognised as a very influential low-carbon consultant within the construction industry.

He is the Director responsible for leading sustainable development, advanced design and applied research within AECOM’s Building Engineering team. His key role is to promote low energy/low carbon design, innovation and sustainable construction techniques to create a better place to live and work.

His efforts have been extensively recognised in the industry with a number of awards, including a Silver Medal from the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers for contributions to the Institution in 2007 and with an Association for Consultancy and Engineering Ambassadors award in 2008. More recently he was awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours List for services to building and engineering.
