Thursday, 4th May 2017, 10:30 am - 3:30 pm
Registration from 10:00 amThis event will focus on new techniques for assessing structural integrity using data-driven vibration structural health monitoring (VSHM), numerical methodologies and modelling of complex structures and give an overview of the University’s cutting-edge Advanced Materials Research Laboratory (AMRL), which specialises in materials characterisation and testing.
These techniques seek to address the ambitious targets governments and industry have set to reduce infrastructure management costs by focusing on reliable and efficient maintenance, with proactive asset management.
There will be two keynote presentations showcasing the latest applications in an industry context:
Gurvinder Jagdev, Iberdrola Engineering and Construction, UK and Bernd Wölfel, Head Offshore solutions at Wölfel Engineering, Germany – Challenges of Structural Health Monitoring for Industrial Implementation.
To follow, there will be presentations on the latest research taking place at the University and an opportunity to tour the AMRL. The full programme can be downloaded here.
This event will be an opportunity for those researching and applying the latest technologies in this field to come together and discuss current capabilities and emerging techniques. There will be an opportunity to explore future collaboration in the field and the use of facilities at the University as well as finding out about opportunities to undertake CPD.
