The transition from school into further or higher education (FE/HE) is an important and complex process for a student with autism.

Following on from the success of last year's event, this afternoon workshop will provide stakeholders involved in this process an opportunity to hear about the Autism Supplement produced by Autism Network Scotland, to work alongside the recently updated Principles of Good Transitions 3.

Delegates will be able to share solutions to common barriers and network with others involved in transitions for people with autism.

Who should attend?

This event is open to all those who attended last year as well as any FE or HE staff with a responsibility for transitions or supporting students with autism or additional support needs.

Benefits of attending

  • Learn about the importance of transitions to FE/HE for people with autism.

  • Receive an update on The Principles of Good Transitions 3 and Autism Supplement and explore ways to put these into practice in your FE/HE Institution.

  • Network with colleagues from across Scotland and explore solutions to some of the common barriers faced by autistic people transitioning into FE/HE settings.
