Dr Jeffrey Cornelius-White from Missouri State University presents the 2024 Mary Kilborn Lecture, which will explore gender-affirming psychotherapy and counselling from a person-centred point of view. Jef will discuss the growing visibility, terminology, and perceptions of trans identities and trans experiences. He will invite participants to consider the role of one’s own identity in relation to the topic, his research on attitudes towards trans people, and the growing literature within the person-centred approach on working with people who identify as trans. Finally, he will present a person-centred perspective on how to work with trans people and trans experiences and encourage participants to continue to learn and engage further on the topics discussed for the benefit of practitioners, clients, and society as a whole.

Please note that this is an in-person event and no recording of the lecture will be made.
