Using STAR - the Speech Therapy Animation and imaging ResourceIn Person Event

This two-part workshop will be an introduction to the STAR resource – a web-based child Speech Therapy tool for CPD use and for use in clinic.

09:00-11:15 An in-person hands-on demo of ultrasound tongue imaging (max 20 participants). We will introduce you to ultrasound tongue imaging and its use in Speech Therapy.

11:15-12:30 An introduction to the STAR resource – a web-based child Speech Therapy tool for CPD use and for use in clinic. We will provide a tour of the STAR website, including its filterable video-based databases of disordered and non-disordered speech. You will have a chance to give feedback on the STAR resource.

Please join us for a networking lunch after the event.


Who should attend?

This workshop is for Speech and Language Therapists who are interested in speech sound disorders in children.

Benefits of attending

For those interested in the use of ultrasound tongue imaging in speech therapy, this workshop will give you the chance to try out ultrasound tongue imaging and discuss its use in therapy. You will also be able to provide input on the design and content of a new vocal-tract-imaging Speech Therapy resource.
