Images of Research - Opening Night

Tuesday, 5th May 2015, 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Registration from 5:30 pm

You are invited to attend the launch of the 2015 Images of Research exhibition.  Join entrants, colleagues and visitors to the University for a drinks reception and be amongst the first to hear which are the winning and commended entries.  New for 2015, see how we use augmented reality to bring the images to life.

The event host, Professor Sir Jim McDonald, will be joined by some of this year's competition judges to announce the category winners and open the voting for the overall winner.

This year’s competition challenged the research community to showcase the impact of their research in tackling real world challenges.  This year’s competition, “Picturing the Future”, aims to highlight the big societal issues being tackled by researchers at the University.  Aligning with the city-wide theme “Glasgow’s Green Year”, the exhibition demonstrates how we contribute to environmental, social and economic sustainability, improve public and urban health and continue to be inspired by the ingenuity and entrepreneurship for which the city of Glasgow is world renowned.
